This second album, Chickenwire from Ash Gray shows Gray growing into different folk rock and blues influences by not only including Texas musicians, but it is the first album to incorporate some Sheffield based musicians also for a nicely eclectic flow that drifts from acoustic songs to full band arrangements. Nicely paced, the album rolls out like a real seventies record. Complete with lyric and liner notes.

Ash Gray's debut solo album is a blend of folk,country and rock. Fresh out of Ash Gray And The Girls, Gray brings in a range of influences.The album has traces of Tom Petty to Graham Parsons and makes for a beautifully balanced listen. For this one, Gray used musicians from his New York band combined with some Austin musician buddies recording the tracks at Dale Watson's Ameripolitan Studios in Austin with Cris Burns behind the engineering wheel. A great introduction to eclectic writing of Ash Gray with beautiful Digipack artwork by Dave Litman.
The first full Ash Gray And The Girls record after the debut EP, This Could Be A Wild Night, Born In The Summer continues with a slightly more consistent flow into late 1960's pop and a few forays into other nostalgic seventies feels. Full band sounds with lots of harmony.
